Connect the host software

Connect the host computer only after the arms and controller are securely fixed, free of collision risk, and correctly wired.

FxStation

In the V2.2 manual, FxStation is the host debugging software for the Marvin dual-arm control system. It supports jog, automatic, drag, and joint impedance modes. Request the software from Gento support.

  1. Connect an Ethernet cable to controller port ETH1 or ETH3.
  2. Set the host computer's IP to 192.168.1.165 (the controller defaults to 192.168.1.190). For network and firewall setup, see Connect your PC.
  3. Open FxStation and click Connect robot.
  4. When connected, the bottom status bar shows the left and right arm status.

In drag mode, hold the drag button on the end flange to move the arm by hand.

Software version

The Software & SDK part of the Marvin resource folder also contains the September 2026 Marvin Platform user guide. Confirm which host application applies to your controller version before use.

DriveMaster2.0

DriveMaster2.0 connects to one joint driver at a time over the debug RS-485 cable. It is for driver tuning and firmware updates, not routine motion control.

  1. Install the USB-to-485 adapter driver on the host and plug in the USB end.
  2. Open DriveMaster2.exe and select the correct COM port.
  3. Enter the module address: J1–J7 are 1–7.
  4. Click OK to open the main screen.

See the DriveMaster2.0 quick operation guide for details.

Next steps

  • Driver alarms: see the JMDT driver alarm and fault manual (listed in manuals & source resources).
  • Development: Marvin.SDK provides real-time force and position control interfaces at up to 1 kHz. Find the repositories in the SDK directory and confirm they match your controller version.
